To make a day of it

Château de Semouse stands in Xertigny (Vosges), in the Grand Est region of France. Its opening hours and prices have not been verified at the source yet.

The château de Semouse stands in the hamlet known as the Forge de la Semouse, in the commune of Xertigny in the Vosges, where the Semouse meets the Bramouse stream. Built in 1885 by ironmaster Victor de Pruines in a neo-Renaissance style, it reflects the industrial prosperity tied to Vosges ironworking in the 19th century. A neo-Romanesque chapel nearby, erected in 1895 by his son Albert de Pruines, holds the family vaults. Gutted by a fire in October 2023, the building is now reduced to its walls and remains privately owned.
