To make a day of it

Château de Scopont stands in Maurens-Scopont (Tarn), in the Occitanie region of France. The building is listed as a historic monument (dating recorded in the Mérimée database: 18th century, first half of the 19th century). Its opening hours and prices have not been verified at the source yet.

The Château de Scopont stands in Maurens-Scopont, in the Tarn department, on a site linked to the Albigensian Crusade and largely rebuilt in the 18th century under the Duke of Choiseul. Visitors can see a south façade flanked by two corner towers dating from the 17th century, a north esplanade lined with balusters above the former moat, and an interior staircase with wrought-iron railing along with stucco-decorated rooms. The park contains a 19th-century neo-Gothic pavilion built from reused stones taken from convents in Toulouse, set among century-old oaks and lime trees.
