To make a day of it

Château de Salles-Curan stands in Salles-Curan (Aveyron), in the Occitanie region of France. The building is listed as a historic monument. The building is privately owned and no visits are on record.

In Salles-Curan, in the Aveyron department, stands the gate of a castle built in the 15th century for the bishops of Rodez, who used it for a long time as a residence and administrative seat. Attached to the town's ramparts, the structure still has its original portcullis in place along with a carved coat of arms bearing the emblem of the d'Estaing family. Over the centuries the building's various wings served many different purposes, a school, a well known inn, guest rooms, before some closed.
