What the French Ministry of Culture records

Doté d'un plan médiéval, avec ses quatre tours d'angle et sa tourelle d'escalier, l'édifice comprend un bâtiment principal à deux corps et une aile en retour d'équerre. La façade du premier corps de bâtiment possède deux croisée au même aplomb, semblables aux six de la face Est de ce même corps de bâtiment, disposées, elles aussi, deux à deux au même aplomb. Ces huit croisées sont caractérisées par le chambranle orné de pilastres à chapiteaux reposant sur des culots sculptés. Ce corps de bâtiment appartient à la deuxième moitié du 15e siècle pour la face nord-est, et au début du 16e siècle pour le reste. Le deuxième et troisième corps de bâtiment s'ouvrent de croisées à pilastres et chapiteaux sensiblement différents de ceux du premier corps de bâtiment. Le château mêle influences gothiques et Renaissances française et italienne. L'édifice a été restauré au début du 20e siècle par Henri Pons.
