What the French Ministry of Culture records

Construction du château entreprise par Guillaume de Lusignan vers 1180. Fortifications terminées au 13e siècle. Transformation du corps de logis aux 14e et 15e siècles. Le manoir a été édifié suivant un plan polygonal. Deux tours se détachent sur les courtines : une tour demi-circulaire établie à côté de la porte d'entrée et une tour établie du côté opposé. L'entrée dans la cour se fait par un pont en pierre remplaçant l'ancien pont-levis. La porte était défendue par une tour avec corbeaux et mâchicoulis dont il ne reste que les encorbellements. A l'intérieur de l'enceinte, des bâtiments ont été élevés et disposés en équerre. Celui de droit remonte au 15e siècle, constituant un logis. Celui du fond est en ruine. Ce corps de logis comprend deux étages. L'entrée s'y fait par une tour circulaire contenant l'escalier à vis. La porte de style gothique flamboyant, encadrée de colonnettes, pinacles et accolades, est surmontée d'un blason tenu par deux lions. Sur la cour intérieure, un escalier sur un arc donnait accès au chemin de ronde.
