To make a day of it

Château de Rosamel stands in Frencq (Pas-de-Calais), in the Hauts-de-France region of France. The building is registered as a historic monument (dating recorded in the Mérimée database: fourth quarter of the 18th century). The building is privately owned and no visits are on record.

In Frencq, between Montreuil and Boulogne-sur-Mer, the Château de Rosamel stands with its four wings arranged around a narrow inner courtyard, a square layout unusual for the area. Built in the late 18th century on 15th-century foundations for the du Campe de Rosamel family, it is now in a ruined state, with parts of the roof and floors having collapsed since the 1970s. Visitors come to see its distinctive stone architecture and the outbuildings surrounding a gated courtyard of honour.
