To make a day of it

Château de Davenescourt stands in Davenescourt (Somme), in the Hauts-de-France region of France. The building is listed as a historic monument (dating recorded in the Mérimée database: fourth quarter of the 18th century, second quarter of the 19th century). The building is privately owned and no visits are on record.

The château de Davenescourt stands in the Somme, north of Montdidier, on the vaulted foundations of an earlier building destroyed in the 17th century. Built at the very end of Louis XVI's reign, it has classical façades with a projecting central section, an entrance hall decorated with neoclassical stucco, and a staircase with a wrought iron rail. The estate also includes a chapel older than the château itself, 19th century outbuildings, and a park whose layout is attributed to landscape designer Édouard André.
