The Boulogne-based architect Giraux Sannier gave it a three-storey elevation, surrounded by wide moats lined with stone balustrades. On the park side, a grand staircase descends in stages and crosses the moat by three arches, while inside, panelled woodwork survives along with an octagonal room known as the red chamber. The building has remained in the hands of the founding family through successive inheritances.
