Château de Ranrouët stands in Herbignac (Loire-Atlantique), in the Pays de la Loire region of France. The building is registered as a historic monument (dating recorded in the Mérimée database: 12th century). Its opening hours and prices have not been verified at the source yet.

At the edge of the Brière marshes, the castle of Ranrouët displays its fortified ruins where three great Breton families succeeded one another from the 12th to the 18th century. The curtain wall, its six towers and the entrance gatehouse reflect the site's successive adaptations to the evolution of artillery, from the original feudal mound to the 16th century bastions. Burned by republican troops in 1793, the site still holds traces of a residential building and a kitchen uncovered during recent excavations.
