What the French Ministry of Culture records

Charles Faret, seigneur de Saint-Privat et de Fournes, construisit ce château vers 1638, sur l'emplacement d'un château-fort (partie centrale). Une grande partie du second étage fut démolie à la fin du 19e siècle. L'édifice comporte un corps de logis Renaissance flanqué, à chacun de ses angles, d'une tourelle en poivrière, pentagonale. Sur la façade principale s'ouvre la porte d'entrée à encadrement de pierres taillées en pointes de diamant et surmontée d'un fronton à arc coupé en son centre. Fenêtres à meneaux. L'intérieur conserve une cheminée Renaissance et des plafonds à la française.
