What the French Ministry of Culture records

Le château fut construit à la fin du 18e siècle pour la famille de Nattes de Montpellier. De plan carré, l'édifice est formé de quatre corps de bâtiments entourant une cour et cantonné de pavillons décrochés. L'entrée dans la cour centrale s'effectue par un porche monumental et un passage voûté en anse de panier. L'aile est est précédée par une cour dite "cour des lions". Cette façade est cantonnée par deux pavillons fortement décrochés. Au centre se dresse un porche monumental orné de pilastres colossaux à chapiteaux ioniques, surmonté d'un fronton circulaire. Sous ce porche s'ouvre le passage en anse de panier qui permet d'accéder à la cour intérieure. L'aile nord donne sur le parc qui entoure le château au nord. Cette façade est également cantonnée de deux pavillons en fort décrochement. Elle a pour seul décor des masques qui ornent la corniche et les clefs des fenêtres. Un haut perron permet d'y accéder. L'intérieur n'a pas conservé de décor ancien.
