Château de Noyers-sur-Serein stands in Noyers (Yonne), in the Bourgogne-Franche-Comté region of France. Its opening hours and prices have not been verified at the source yet.
The ruins of Noyers castle overlook a tight bend of the Serein river, set on a rocky spur north of the village. What remains today bears witness to a stronghold once regarded as one of the most formidable in Burgundy, first built before the 11th century and later expanded by the lords of Noyers. The site reflects centuries of conflict, including the Champagne succession war, the Hundred Years' War and the Wars of Religion, before the castle was destroyed on the orders of Henri IV in 1599.
