Château de Montbras stands in Montbras (Meuse), in the Grand Est region of France. What the French Ministry of Culture records

Ce château, bâti dans la première moitié du 17ème siècle, connut des transformations au 18ème siècle. A l'intérieur, plusieurs pièces présentent des décors peints. Le « cabinet de Claude » possède un plafond voûté, à vingt quatre caissons en stuc sculpté et peint. La petite pièce considérée comme l'ancienne sacristie de la chapelle du château présente une voûte dont les décors peints ont été réalisés vers 1620. Au 18ème siècle, les nouveaux propriétaires procèdent à d'importants travaux. La distribution des pièces du premier étage est entièrement reprise. Les cheminées et boiseries conçues à cette période sont conservées. Au 19ème siècle, un nouveau décor de style Troubadour ainsi que des lambris ornent la chapelle et la tour sud-est nouvellement réaménagées.
