Perched on a hill overlooking the Arpajon valley, the ruins of the Montal-lez-Arpajon castle recall the former power of the Laroquebrou and Conros family, whose name it bears. Largely destroyed during the Hundred Years' War, the site retains a castle chapel dedicated to Saint Michael, once served by a prior. Part of the buildings remained inhabited until the late 18th century, under the La Roque-Montal family.
