In Carlat, in the Cantal region, the Château de Celles is a 17th century manor house that has kept its fortified appearance with two cone roofed towers. The main building, topped with a pavilion roof, houses a dovecote set at the top of the stair tower. The roofs, covered with schist slates known as leuzes, give the whole a grey silhouette typical of the local landscape.
