To make a day of it

Château de Mayac stands in Mayac (Dordogne), in the Nouvelle-Aquitaine region of France. No visits are on record for this building.

In the village of Mayac, in central Périgord, this eighteenth-century manor stretches nearly fifty metres along the Isle river. Its south front features a projecting bay with a triangular pediment, pilasters and gargoyles, while two older towers from the seventeenth century flank the north front. Connected since the late fifteenth century to the d'Abzac family, the building underwent substantial alterations that make its original form hard to trace today. The estate remains privately owned, partly converted into holiday accommodation.
