On the outskirts of Auch, the Château de Marin is an example of the fortified houses built in the second half of the 16th century around the town, at a time when comfort had become a growing architectural concern. Its south facade, divided into two unequal wings by a hexagonal tower, still shows ogee arches and a cross mullioned window. A spiral staircase turret topped by a dovecote stands at one corner of the rectangular building, while the west facade was altered in a later period.
