What the French Ministry of Culture records
Le vieux château fut détruit au cours des guerres de Religion. La partie basse, datant du 13e siècle, sert de soubassement au château neuf, reconstruit en 1620. Le rez-de-chaussée présente deux grandes salles voûtées en berceau et un départ d'escalier à rampes droites. Au niveau du deuxième entresol, apparaissent les premières marches d'un escalier extérieur taillé à même le roc. Au niveau supérieur, les salles sont voûtées en arc de cloître. Les tours d'angles ont été découronnées.
