What the French Ministry of Culture records

Le château a appartenu à une longue lignée de seigneurs, d'abord vassaux du roi d'Angleterre, puis des comtes d'Armagnac. La lignée des Pardailhan reconstruit le château au début du 18e siècle. L'édifice est agrandi et complété au 19e siècle, dans un style classique. Le château et le parc se situent sur un éperon dont l'accès se fait par une allée de cèdres bordée des communs et de la distillerie développée par Antoine de Melet. L'édifice, de plan quadrangulaire, est construit sur le rocher, qui demeure visible dans les grandes caves, où se trouve la base de l'ancien donjon féodal. La terrasse prend appui sur une orangerie voûtée en berceau. A l'intérieur, escalier Louis XIV, deux halls à portiques superposés du 19e siècle, pièces ornées de boiseries Louis XV, panneaux peints, stucs...
