Château de Launaguet stands in Launaguet (Haute-Garonne), in the Occitanie region of France. The building is listed as a historic monument (dating recorded in the Mérimée database: second quarter of the 19th century). Its opening hours and prices have not been verified at the source yet.
The château de Launaguet stands a few kilometres from Toulouse, rebuilt in 1845 on the ruins of a manor house destroyed by fire four decades earlier. Designed by Toulouse architect Auguste Virebent, it reflects the eclectic taste of the 19th century through its overhanging corner turrets, moulded terracotta ornament inspired by flamboyant Gothic forms, and trompe l'œil painted windows. Inside, the decoration was entirely conceived by Virebent, combining a neo-Gothic hall, a monumental sideboard with Renaissance pilasters, and Louis XV panelling. Now serving as the town hall, the building has kept the character of a 19th century residence despite its new function.
