The château de Lalinde, also known as château de la Bastide, overlooks the Dordogne river at the heart of the bastide town of the same name, in the Périgord pourpre area. Built in the 13th century under the name Castrum de la Lynde, it retains two medieval corner turrets attached to the remains of its old keep, which served as a prison in the 18th century. Rebuilt in the 19th century, the building now houses a hotel and restaurant.
