L'existence d'un manoir est connue depuis le 15e siècle. Au 18e siècle, il fut transformé en château par Guy de la Motte-Piquet, seigneur du lieu et conseiller au Parlement de Bretagne, en s'inspirant des hôtels particuliers reconstruits à Rennes par l'architecte Gabriel. Au cours du 19e siècle ont eu leiu des modifications de la toiture (lucarnes) et l'aménagement des combles.
