Château de la Roche Faton stands in Lhoumois (Deux-Sèvres), in the Nouvelle-Aquitaine region of France. The building is registered as a historic monument (dating recorded in the Mérimée database: 15th century, 16th century, 17th century). The building is privately owned and no visits are on record.

What the French Ministry of Culture records

Construit au 12e siècle, le château est incendié en 1417 lors de la guerre civile entre Armagnacs et Bourguignons. Il fut reconstruit à partir de 1544. L'édifice comporte trois corps de bâtiments, flanqués de tours rondes qui s'ordonnent autour d'une cour fermée. A l'est et au sud se trouvent le corps de logis des 15e et 16e siècles ainsi que le pavillon d'entrée fortifié du 15e siècle et sa poterne. Au nord et au sud sont situées les deux ailes de communs, construites au 17e siècle à l'emplacement des anciens murs de fortifications dont il ne reste que deux tours. L'ensemble était entouré de douves dont il ne reste qu'une pièce d'eau en avant de l'esplanade est. L'intérieur conserve des cheminées des 15e et 18e siècles, ainsi qu'un décor stuqué dans le grand salon 18e. La tour d'angle intérieure du pavillon d'entrée conserve un escalier en vis du 15e siècle. Un parc paysager à l'anglaise s'étend vers le nord et l'est.
