To make a day of it

Château de la Pervenchère stands in Casson (Loire-Atlantique), in the Pays de la Loire region of France. Its opening hours and prices have not been verified at the source yet.

The château de la Pervenchère stands a few kilometres from the village of Casson, close to the banks of the Erdre river and the Nantes to Brest canal, in the Loire-Atlantique department. Originally a modest manor dating from the 15th century, it owes its development to the Richard family, Nantes shipowners who transformed and embellished it from the late 18th century onward. Its history recalls princely hunts under King Louis-Philippe and a reputed stay by Napoleon III, linked to the so called ghost's bedroom. A private property again since 2004, after having served as a municipal holiday camp and even a mink farm, the estate is not open for public visits.
