To make a day of it

Château de La Commaraine stands in Pommard (Côte-d'Or), in the Bourgogne-Franche-Comté region of France. Its opening hours and prices have not been verified at the source yet.

Located in Pommard in the heart of the Côte de Beaune, this château dates back to 1112 and retains a U-shaped layout flanked by corner towers, combining medieval stonework with later alterations. It has long stayed tied to winemaking, surrounding the Clos de la Commaraine, a monopole vineyard ranked Premier Cru within the Pommard appellation. Owned successively by several Burgundian noble families and then by the Jaboulet-Vercherre family from 1920, the estate has been under restoration since 2017 under new owners planning a high-end hotel there.
