Château de Beaune stands in Beaune (Côte-d'Or), in the Bourgogne-Franche-Comté region of France. Its opening hours and prices have not been verified at the source yet.
In Beaune, on the remains of a fortress built by Louis XI in 1478, a nineteenth century pavilion with glazed Burgundian tiles now houses the headquarters of the Bouchard Père & Fils wine house. Only four medieval towers remain from the original defensive structure, with the Rue du Château now running through the former stronghold. The site is visited less for its architecture than for its layered military and winemaking history, from ramparts torn down under Henri IV to cellars dug into the towers in the nineteenth century.
