To make a day of it

Château de Juigné stands in Maine-et-Loire (Maine-et-Loire), in the Pays de la Loire region of France. No visits are on record for this building.

In Montreuil-Juigné, on the edge of Angers, the Château de Juigné, also called Château de la Guyonnière, stands in schist and tuffeau stone beside an ornamental pond. The 15th century main building, pierced with tall dormer windows and flanked by a pentagonal tower with a conical roof, keeps the defensive look of late Angevin Gothic architecture, even though the corner turrets are now purely decorative. Around it spreads a 19th century landscaped park laid out by the Angevin nurseryman André Leroy, with tree-lined paths and romantic vistas.
