In the centre of Guémené-sur-Scorff, what remains of the Rohan family's castle comes down to two separate but nearby remnants: a 15th century fortified gate and a small Gothic steam room re-erected inside a former garage now used as a museum space. Most of the stronghold, dismantled in the early 17th century and demolished in 1926, is gone, but these two pieces still tell the story of a site fought over during the Breton war of succession and later the Wars of the League. The so called Rohan gate, with its pointed arch and overhanging machicolations, still marks the former western entrance to the enclosure.
