What the French Ministry of Culture records
Château du 15e siècle élevé à l'emplacement d'un édifice du 11e siècle. Il se compose d'une suite de remparts aboutissant, vers l'ouest, à une porte en arc avec accolade au-dessus de laquelle courent des mâchicoulis. A l'intérieur de l'enceinte, quelques pans de murs ou fragments de pièces dans lesquels se trouvent des portes géminées et une excavation appelée "bain de la Reine Anne". Au 16e siècle, il était flanqué de huit fortes tours. Son démantellement paraît remonter à Henri IV. Au 18e siècle, restauration ou utilisation des parties non ruinées. Un escalier en pierre, partant d'une salle voûtée, mène au chemin de ronde.
