What the French Ministry of Culture records

Grisac fut érigé en marquisat au 14e siècle. En 1309 y naquit Guillaume de Grimoard qui devint pape en 1362 sous le nom d'Urbain V. Il y passa une partie de son enfance. L'essentiel de la construction médiévale dû être bâti vers le milieu du 14e siècle et sans doute agrandi au 15e. L'édifice est abandonné à la fin du 15e siècle. Du 17e au 19e siècle, d'importantes transformations sont réalisées et, au 19e siècle, le domaine se transforme en exploitation agricole et en école communale. La masse principale de l'édifice est de plan rectangulaire et présente : les vestiges d'une tour de guet ; un corps central en partie écroulé ; un massif aménagé en habitation à l'est ; une terrasse et des vestiges de constructions au sud ; une grande cour de ferme au nord, bornée par de petits bâtiments agricoles récents ; une grange à deux niveaux à l'ouest et une autre à l'est. Autour de cet ensemble, des vestiges de dispositifs défensifs pourraient être reconnus.
