The château de Geay stands near the village center in Charente-Maritime, a rectangular building raised at the very end of the 16th century to replace an earlier manor that had become too exposed. Two square pavilions flank the main residence, and two corner towers remain from what was once a four-towered enclosure. The plain, austere façades contrast with the entrance doorway, marked by pilasters and a triangular pediment. Still owned by the family that built it, the estate remains in private hands today.
