The Château de Gallerande stands in the commune of Luché-Pringé, in the Sarthe department, bordered by a wooded park sloping toward the Loir river. Originally built as a fortress in the twelfth century, it was rebuilt as a residential manor in the fifteenth century by the Clermont-Gallerande family, who held it for nearly six hundred years. Its main building, flanked by round and square towers, is set apart from the road by a long canal.
