The château de Ferron stands in the town of Tonneins, in the Lot-et-Garonne department, on the site of a fortified house dating from the 16th century. The present neo-Gothic building was erected in the 19th century by Bordeaux architect Jean-Baptiste Lafargue for the Silvestre de Ferron family. Its architecture combines several juxtaposed wings, polygonal towers and a round tower, still bearing the scars of an Allied bombing in August 1944 that destroyed its north-east wing.
