To make a day of it

Château de Dreux stands in Dreux (Eure-et-Loir), in the Centre-Val de Loire region of France. The building is listed as a historic monument. No visits are on record for this building.

On the hill overlooking Dreux, the remains of a former royal castle surround the Saint-Louis chapel, burial place of the House of Orléans. Visitors can see a thirteenth century rampart lined with round towers, along with traces of a fortified site dating back to Gallic and Roman times. The residence known as l'Évêché, the only surviving dwelling, recalls that this was once home to the counts of Dreux before passing to the Orléans family.
