Château de Cromières stands in Cussac (Haute-Vienne), in the Nouvelle-Aquitaine region of France. The building is registered as a historic monument (dating recorded in the Mérimée database: 13th century, 15th century, 17th century). The building is privately owned and no visits are on record.
In Cussac, in the Haute-Vienne department, the château de Cromières shows an unusual silhouette for the Limousin region, its main building with two symmetrical projecting sections flanked by two long wings of outbuildings topped with dovecote turrets. A frieze of eared battlements crowns the whole, along with two towers, one of them a semicircular tower surviving from an earlier fortified structure, possibly dating to the 13th century. The estate passed through the Pompadour, Selve and Bermondet families, the latter still owning it today. Nearby, a farm building known as the Temple recalls the Protestant gatherings once held there.
