To make a day of it

Château de Creil stands in Creil (Oise), in the Hauts-de-France region of France. The building is listed as a historic monument. No visits are on record for this building.

On the Île Saint-Maurice, in Creil, stand the remains of what was once a residence of the kings of France, before it became a bourgeois house at the end of the 18th century. The site now houses the Gallé-Juillet museum, devoted to the earthenware industry that once employed a large share of the local population, nearly two centuries ago. Visitors come less for dramatic medieval remains than for the layered industrial and craft history held within these old walls.
