Château de Bonaventure stands in Huismes (Indre-et-Loire), in the Centre-Val de Loire region of France. The building is registered as a historic monument (dating recorded in the Mérimée database: 15th century, 16th century, 18th century, 19th century). The building is privately owned and no visits are on record.
At Huismes, within the grounds of the château d'Uzage, stand the remains of a former royal hunting lodge built in the 15th century for Louis XI, who stayed there several times between 1479 and 1482. The main residence and its chapel disappeared after demolition in the mid 18th century, but part of the enclosure survives: an entrance gate, a brick wall section and a crenellated tower known as the Tour des Jardins. This is a site for tracing a vanished royal retreat rather than visiting a complete château.
