The château de Bois-Joly stands in Caudan, in the Morbihan, on the site of a former manor sold off as national property during the Revolution. Built from 1852 for Françoise Bonamy, it combines a richly carved, ordered facade in tuffeau stone with interior salons that still hold their original painted stucco decor and wallpapers. The surrounding romantic park contains an unusual set of garden features: a music kiosk, a metal bridge, basins and statues, and even the mausoleum of the woman who commissioned the château.
