To make a day of it

Château d'Harzillemont stands in Hagnicourt (Ardennes), in the Grand Est region of France. The building is registered as a historic monument (dating recorded in the Mérimée database: 16th century, 19th century). The building is privately owned and no visits are on record.

Located in Hagnicourt, in the Ardennes region, the Harzillemont castle is a former fortified house dating from the 16th century, with four round towers still standing at the corners of the main building. The moats have since been filled in, and the windows were enlarged and made regular over the centuries, gradually erasing the defensive character of the original structure. Notable features include ornate dormer windows added in the 19th century in a neo-Renaissance style, as well as a pond at the rear fed by the Foivre stream.
