What the French Ministry of Culture records

Du château médiéval ne sont aujourd'hui conservées que les larges douves. Les parties les plus anciennes visibles à ce jour datent du début du 17ème siècle (baies à bossages et hautes lucarnes en pierre). L'aspect actuel des bâtiments résulte des changements réalisés en 1741. Le château est alors transformé en demeure de plaisance en supprimant les éléments fortifiés et en modifiant la partie centrale du logis (portique classique à pilastres, avec mascarons sculptés, aménagement avec décor de plâtre dans le grand salon). A la suite des dommages causés par la guerre de 1914-1918, le bâtiment est restauré entre 1917 et 1923, notamment les hautes lucarnes en pierre et le décor de stuc du grand salon.
