The château de Bussemont stands in Saint-Lumier-la-Populeuse, in the Marne department, on the site of a 17th-century manor rebuilt in Louis XIII style at the end of the 19th century. Visitors can see a central building flanked by two wings, a three-arch bridge crossing the moat, and a domed chapel with a Byzantine appearance set within a 32-hectare park crossed by the Bruxenelle stream. Local tradition holds that the last Assembly of Notables of Champagne met in the great hall in 1788.
