Of the fortified castle of Aulnay, built by the local viscounts and fought over during the Hundred Years' War and later the Wars of Religion, only a keep tower still stands on its mound. Visitors mainly come to see this round tower, its staircase set within the thickness of the wall, and the remains of a nearby dovecote. Carved stones from the old castle can still be spotted scattered across the village's house fronts.
