What the French Ministry of Culture records

En 1180, mention d'une donation du village de Naussac aux Cisterciens des Chambons. Le château est mentionné en 1661 et dépend du lot abbatial de l'abbé commendataire des Chambons. Les vestiges comprennent une tour d'escalier englobée dans une ferme et le rez-de-chaussée d'une maison. La tour d'escalier présente un plan circulaire et se développe sur trois niveaux, dont un de combles. La tour sert de cage à un escalier en vis portant noyau. Les marches sont délardées. L'entrée au rez-de-chaussée se fait par une porte encadrée de deux piédroits formés de quatre blocs chanfreinés. Elle est surmontée par un linteau monolithe mouluré et tresse en arc légèrement segmentaire. Un larmier à tore et tresse reprend la courbure du linteau. Au-dessus, un gâble en tiers-point reprend la mouluration des éléments précédents. Les trois baies supérieures reprennent les canons Renaissance. L'ouvrage conserve des éléments de défense (archères, restes de bretèche).
