What the French Ministry of Culture records

En 1890, Paul Varin-Benier acquiert une partie des bois provenant des anciens domaines de l'abbaye de femmes de Sainte-Hoïlde. Jules Renard, l'architecte de la famille, établit les plans d'un rendez-vous de chasse, édifié en 1894. L'ensemble est constitué d'un pavillon, d'une écurie et d'un chenil disposés en U. L'architecture en est éclectique, avec des touches néo-médiévales. Ce rendez-vous de chasse témoigne d'un mode de vie de la haute bourgeoisie du 19e siècle.
