The priory of Saint-Lothain, sometimes called château de Baume, stands in the Jura village of the same name, near Poligny. Founded by Benedictine monks and later linked to the abbey of Cluny, the complex retains elements from the 15th and 16th centuries, including a south wing and a 17th century fireplace, as well as a large vaulted cellar that reflects the monks' winemaking activity. The buildings, now largely converted into private dwellings, are best seen from outside, through their protected facades and roofing.
