What the French Ministry of Culture records
Le projet lauréat au concours de 1913 pour l'édification d'une bourse de commerce et palais consulaire est celui de l'architecte Adolphe Dervaux. Cette oeuvre des années 1920 est marquée par un orientalisme colonial influencé par le goût pittoresque (justifié ici à Sète, principal port vers le Maghreb) mais sa conception architecturale est franchement moderne avec ses formes géométriques droites dans l'esprit "art déco" : l'importance des verrières, ferronneries bas-reliefs et peintures murales l'atteste. Les panneaux peints sont de carlos Raymond. L'adjudicataire est M. Barthélémy (1926).
