To make a day of it

Manoir du Pavillon stands in Fauguernon (Calvados), in the Normandie region of France. The building is listed as a historic monument (dating recorded in the Mérimée database: 17th century). The building is privately owned and no visits are on record.

At Fauguernon, on the Lieuvin plateau, the manoir du Pavillon stands off the beaten track, built of brick and dressed stone at the turn of the 16th and 17th centuries. Its north facade draws the eye with two square pavilions projecting forward, linked by an Italian style gallery whose four round arches shelter a covered porch. A double staircase leads to twin doors, an unusual feature for rural Norman architecture of the period.
