To make a day of it
Wasserschloss Haus Rodenberg stands in Dortmund (Dortmund), in North Rhine-Westphalia, Germany. The building is a listed Baudenkmal. Its opening hours and prices have not been verified at the source yet.
In the Aplerbeck district of Dortmund, the Wasserschloss Haus Rodenberg preserves what remains of a former moated castle, of which only the outer bailey with its service wing has survived. The present building was rebuilt after being destroyed in 1424 and later turned into a baroque residence between 1689 and 1698. Restored by the city of Dortmund at the end of the 20th century, it now houses rooms used by the local adult education centre, a puppet theatre and a restaurant, while its park and former mill pond draw visitors in summer.
