Schloss Bodelschwingh stands on oak piles in the Stadtbezirk Mengede district of Dortmund, in North Rhine-Westphalia. Since 1302 this moated residence has remained without interruption in the hands of the same family, now the counts zu Inn- und Knyphausen. The present building, with its corner towers and Renaissance gables, took shape through an extension begun in 1565. Around the house lie a former farm courtyard, now repurposed, and a landscape park laid out in the 19th century.
