To make a day of it
Stadtburg Göttingen stands in Göttingen (Göttingen), in Lower Saxony, Germany. Its opening hours and prices have not been verified at the source yet.
The Stadtburg Göttingen, also recorded under the names Bolruz, Ballerhus or Balrus, was a fortified residence of the Duchy of Brunswick-Lüneburg, standing in the northeastern corner of Göttingen's old town. Nothing of it stands today: the stronghold was torn down by the town's citizens in 1387 after a feud with the duke, and it was never rebuilt. Excavations carried out in the 1980s uncovered a main ward and an outer ward divided by a double moat, along with the foundations of a round keep roughly 7.5 metres across. The site is now purely archaeological, with no visible remains above ground.
