Schlossstein (Bärenstein) stands in Bärenstein (Erzgebirgskreis), in Saxony, Germany. Its opening hours and prices have not been verified at the source yet.
The Schlossstein, also known as the Schlössel, is the remnant of a fortified structure located about one kilometer north of Bärenstein, near the hamlet of Kühberg, in the Erzgebirge mountains. Built on a rocky spur overlooking a bend of the Pöhlbach river, it most likely served to watch over and protect an old trade route linking the salt works of Halle to Prague, documented as early as 1143. Today only a roughly triangular core structure some ten meters across remains, surrounded by a still visible ditch. Comparisons with Burg Nidberg suggest that a tower once stood there.
